Altes Backhaus
Description
The "Altes Backhaus" inn stands for contemporary Austrian cuisine with a strong regional focus. Under the direction of Bernhard Gruber, a passionate chef, dishes are created that interpret classic tavern cuisine in a modern way and are complemented by Mediterranean accents. The menu is varied and combines fish and meat dishes with seasonal side dishes and lovingly crafted desserts.
Special attention is paid to the origin of the ingredients, which preferably come from the region. The dishes are accompanied by carefully selected wines from Lower Austria, which round off the culinary offering.
The historic building of the "Altes Backhaus" dates back to the 14th century and was originally a bakery. Today, the inn impresses with its medieval cross vaults, which give the interior a unique ambience. The house is complemented by a charming inner courtyard garden, which is particularly inviting in the warmer months.
The inn is run by Petra and Bernhard Gruber, assisted by sommelier Franz Schmutzer, who expertly guides guests through the region's world of wine. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere make the "Alte Backhaus" a popular meeting place for connoisseurs.
