Eissalon Salek
Description
The true inventor of ice cream is not known. If we interpret some ancient writings accordingly, it could have been the Arabs or even the Chinese. However, one thing is certain: we owe the spread of artisanal ice cream, first in Italy and then worldwide, to the Gelatieri from northern Italy, specifically the area around Belluno.
In 1959, the first ice cream parlor based on this tradition was founded in Wiener Neustadt by Gerolamo Moratello, originally from Trento. In 1975, he passed it on to the Salek family, who also come from the Trentino region. To this day, this artisanal tradition continues in our establishment.
